Manchester United are reportedly plotting a move for their academy product Vanja Milinkovic-Savic who would return as a replacement for Andre Onana.

This is expected to be a busy summer at Carrington, as INEOS will be determined to bolstr the squad with new arrivals, especially on the back of a miserable Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils will certainly address their attacking department with one or two rivals, and Matheus Cunha is widely expected to join the club, as he and his entourage are reportedly ‘very close’ to reaching an agreement with United over personal terms.

Moreover, finding a new goalkeeper could also be a priority for the club, especially amidst Onana’s recurring howlers.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via GiveMeSport), United could resort to Milinkovic-Savic who has been delivering superb displays at the back for Torino.

The 28-year-old was on MUFC’s books between 2014 and 2016, before embarking on several experiences across Europe.

The Serbian has now established himself as one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in Serie A. He has been described as ‘unbeatable’ following some of his recent exploits between the posts.

Standing at 202cm, Milinkovic-Savic is one of the tallest professional players in the sport. His large frame helps him produce incredible saves, but he’s also renowned for his impressive footwork. His elegant touch is almost surprising for a man his size.

This season, the custodian has made 34 appearances in Serie A thus far, registering 11 clean sheets while conceding 37 goals. His current deal with Torino will expire in June 2026, but the club has the option to trigger an automatic renewal for another year.

The source adds that Milinkovic-Savic would relish the opportunity to return to Carrington, but it remains to be seen if United will be able to strike an agreement with the Granata.

The goalkeeper’s older brother, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, was also heavily linked with a move to Man Utd during his days at Lazio, but he was eventually sold to Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023.
