Fabrizio Romano Provides Major Update on Liverpool’s Move for Alexander Isak

Liverpool’s admiration of Alexander Isak is set to become concrete with a formal offer expected imminently, according to multiple reports. Following the news that Luis Diaz is closing in on a £65.5m move to Bayern Munich, the Reds are ready to go big again.

A centre-forward has always been at the top of Arne Slot’s priority list heading into the summer window and Isak was always viewed as the dream target.

Of course, Liverpool confirmed the arrival of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69million earlier this week and for many that would’ve been enough.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, they are now ready to place an official big to sign the Newcastle United forward, via Anfield Sector.

“After Luis Diaz gone, I expect Liverpool to go very strong for Alexander Isak. The official bid is considered a matter of time.”

Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope has also claimed that Newcastle United are ‘braced’ for a bid from Liverpool in the upcoming week.

“Newcastle braced for Liverpool offer for Alexander Isak this week after Eddie Howe reveals there is no chance of want-away striker joining squad here in Far East.”

“LFC’s £65m sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern likely to pave way for formal bid.”

Reports suggest Liverpool could offer a bid in the region of £120m to sign the forward, who only wants a move to Anfield this summer.

The 25-year-old has been absent from Newcastle United’s training camp for the past week and looks ready to push for a move.

Newcastle’s stance is still clear that they wouldn’t like a sale, but a big-money offer for a want-away star could change their stance.

Hope also reports that Newcastle are searching heavily for replacements with Isak. Reports suggest that RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is at the top of their list, whilst there has also been talks with Brentford’s Yoanne Wissa, who wants the move.

For Liverpool, Darwin Nunez is still expected to leave this summer.
