This week, talkSPORT reported that Kobbie Mainoo might be open to leaving Manchester United before the transfer window closes if the right offer comes in. So where does PSG fit into all this? The French club face calls to monitor the situation closely.
On the latest episode of the Ensemble PSG Podcast, Football Transfers’ chief editor Robin Bairner suggested that one player PSG probably won’t be able to sign this summer but should be ready to move for the January window.
“I think maybe one to look at might be Kobbie Mainoo at Manchester United,” Bairner said. “I think he’d be an interesting one to look at, just off the top of my head, because he’s clearly an immensely talented player, but he doesn’t really fit into Ruben Amorim’s system.
“Amorim wants players who are all about intensity, whereas there’s a feeling that Mainoo is lacking a little bit of mobility. I think he could potentially fit into a team like PSG where you’ve got that high tariff on technical ability and being able to play in possession.”

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says he can make two firm guarantees as speculation swirls around Mainoo and his possible exit from Manchester United.
“Today we had reports of a permanent transfer to Napoli,” began Romano when speaking on his YouTube channel. “I can guarantee that Manchester United don’t want Kobbie Mainoo to go and also I can guarantee that Kobbie Mainoo doesn’t want to go on a permanent transfer.
“According to my information a permanent transfer is not happening in this window for Kobbie Mainoo. Loan is the desire of the player. Last night Mainoo told Man Utd and again this morning that his desire is to go on loan, to play, to have the opportunity to develop.”

Whether or not Mainoo becomes a realistic target for PSG remains to be seen. However, one prominent team is keen on the youngster as the Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan reports that Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid are monitoring the situation of Mainoo.
