Manchester United have finally agreed a deal that sees Antony join Real Betis permanently on deadline day.

A summer-long saga has finally come to an end – barring any late issues when the player travels to undergo his medical.

Despite angling for an initial loan followed by a buy option/obligation for the whole window, Betis will instead sign the Brazilian in a straight transfer, as confirmed by David Ornstein, who reports the fee will total £21.6 million.

Fabrizio Romano subsequently gave the deal the ‘here we go’ on X/Twitter before adding that the package is £19m plus £2.6m in add-ons.

Antony was adamant about returning to Seville after enjoying a revitalised run of form in the second half of 2024/2025; he scored nine goals and contributed a further five assists in 26 appearances, playing an integral role in the side reaching the UEFA Conference League final and securing Europa League qualification via a sixth-placed La Liga finish.

Now, he will pull the curtains on a lacklustre three-year Red Devils tenure.

In the 96 matches he played for United, the 25-year-old returned a measly 12 goals and five assists in 5,434 minutes of action.

It’s safe to say he will go down as one of the most disappointing acquisitions in the club’s history, given they forked out a ludicrous £82m to sign him from Ajax back in 2022.

After Antony, who else will be leaving?

The same can also be said for Jadon Sancho, who’s also actively seeking a move away from Old Trafford before the 7pm deadline.

Reports on Sunday suggested the outcast winger could be used as makeweight in a bid for Emiliano Martinez, so that’ll certainly be one to keep an eye on throughout the day.
