Fabian Schär has had quite the week, having scored in Newcastle's stunning 5-0 win over Crystal Palace and played a role in both goals at Villa Park in the first half today.
It was the Swiss defender who inadvertently put the ball into his own net after just 33 seconds. The goal went to Ollie Watkins but it would not have gone in but for a big deflection.
He responded strongly though, and headed in Harvey Barnes' brilliant cross to pull the Magpies level before the 20-minute mark.
He also has been booked, and had a collision with Watkins that led to penalty appeals from the home fans.
It's par for the course for Schär in the second city, having scored twice in a 3-1 win on the ground last season.
That ended Villa's long unbeaten home run, which has been bettered with their current record.
Could the defender get another double and end another streak? You couldn't rule it out.
