Manchester United under-18s put on a stellar display to beat Chelsea under-18s by 5-1 in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday.
Chelsea bagged the opener in the 20th minute but Man United came back strongly to tear the Blues apart.
Chido Obi-Martin levelled the scoreline with a clinical striker’s finish.
Jaydan Kamason spotted Obi-Martin sprinting past Chelsea’s high defensive line, anticipating the perfect moment to send him through.
The powerful centre-forward outmuscled the defender, seized the ball and showed ice-cold composure to beat the goalkeeper.
Kamason was once again at the heart of the action as he played a cross into the box with James Scanlon heading it home.
An ‘outrageous’ pass from Jack Fletcher sent Scanlon through and he made no mistake, putting United 3-1 up with a cool finish.
Chelsea came out after the break with intent and were given a glorious opportunity to reduce the deficit.
However, United goalkeeper Will Murdock made an unbelievable save from six yards out to deny the opposition a chance to make inroads.
It was truly a fabulous save diving to his left when he had very little time to react.
Gabriele Biancheri made his return after undergoing surgery last month.
He took advantage of a loose ball and squared it to Obi-Martin.
The former Arsenal striker tapped it into the net, giving United a three-goal cushion.
He bagged his first hat-trick in this prestigious competition around the hour mark.
The Red Devils now set their sights on a thrilling quarter-final clash away at Arsenal, as they look to continue their march in the tournament.
