Recent reports have even suggested that the Premier League giants have tabled an opening bid of €50 million plus add-ons, though that falls well below Barcelona’s asking fee.

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Fermin’s future, suggesting that the player is leaning towards continuing his stay at Barcelona.

Even though the 48-hour ultimatum has already passed, Fermin has shown no desire to leave the club of his life.

This comes even as Chelsea intensify their pursuit of the Spanish international and put pressure on Barcelona to accept a deal.

Even if the Catalans do agree to Chelsea’s offer, the move cannot go through without the approval of Fermin Lopez.

As per the report, the Barcelona shirt weighs heavily on Fermin, who wants to fulfil his dream of becoming a crucial first-team player for the Blaugrana.

That being said, Chelsea are not giving up just yet and will continue to put pressure on both the player and the club, knowing the market is far from over.
