There is so much going on at Chelsea in terms of transfers this month that it’s hard to keep track. Several first team players are being linked with an exit, and some are such big names (that’s you, Christopher Nkunku) that some of the lesser lights are getting crowded out.
Yet it’s one of those less glamourous figures who could be the closest to going. While Nkunku was in the squad last night to face Bournemouth (he spent the whole game on the bench as an unused sub, which we would imagine isn’t helping to convince him to stay), Axel Disasi was left out of the squad entirely.
We had it reported earlier in the day that that was going to happen, so nobody was surprised. But which teams are closing in on the defender so closely that it was better to leave him out? That’s what we found out from an exclusive from CaughtOffside today.

They write that Juventus (who have been mentioned before as potentially interested) have been joined by Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen among the interested parties. That’s a very nice list indeed for Axel. He could join any of those teams and have a good chance of winning trophies, and a much better chance of starting games too.
The 26 year old had a run in the Chelsea team last season, where he had some good games and some very bad games, but Levi Colwill’s improved fitness this season plus the arrival of Tosin Adarabioyo and the rise of Josh Acheampong has put Disasi out of contention even while Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana are injured.
Juventus still look the most likely destination, given their shortage at centre back.
