Chelsea’s summer looked like it was almost done – Christopher Nkunku is out, Nicolas Jackson is staying after Liam Delap’s injury and Alejandro Garnacho is joining them from Manchester United. After all that, it felt like they might be finished for the summer.

However the sporting directors are always looking for a bargain and the fact we’ve said we don’t need more strengthening at the back clearly hasn’t stopped teams offering us interesting options.

Chelsea offered unwanted Brazilian defender by PSG

We’ve heard from one of our sources that the Blues have been offered Lucas Beraldo of PSG. The Brazilian isn’t playing much there, having been pushed down the pecking order by Willian Pacho and the recently arrived Ilya Zabarnyi from Bournemouth.

He certainly fits the profile the club might be looking for following the long term injury to Levi Colwill: young, left footed and comfortable passing into midfield.

“PSG are open to selling and hope to make a profit, with a price tag set between €30–35 million,” our source says.

The 21 year old has requested a transfer from the Parisians, who have offered him to a number of clubs including the Blues and Liverpool. But it looks like, so far, that offer hasn’t been met with any enthusiasm.

Chelsea likely to stand firm despite lacking at the back

Chelsea have made it clear they’re not looking to sign a new defender, and in this case we believe the briefs. Maresca seems happy with Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo for now, with Wesley Fofana likely ready to start playing again and Benoit Badiashile due back after the international break.

We hope the club aren’t being too optimistic relying on the regularly absent Badiashile and Fofana to stay fit for the bulk of the season.
