Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan shared his expectations ahead of tonight’s heavyweight Champions League clash against Barcelona.
Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, the 36-year-old admitted his team may need to go beyond their limits to reach the final.
Things could’ve been different had Inter showed more composure in the first leg.
Indeed, Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram gave the Nerazzurri an early two-goal cushion at Montjuic.
However, Barcelona clawed their way back into the game and eventually held the Italian giants to a 3-3 draw.
Therefore, there’s everything to play for at Giuseppe Meazza tonight as Simone Inzaghi aims to make club history.
Should Inter reach the Munich showpiece, he will become the second Nerazzurri boss to oversee two Champions League finals.
Yet, that could prove easier said than done, with the reigning Scudetto holders facing one of Europe’s most in-form teams.
As such, Mkhitaryan urged his teammates to go to great lengths in front of a sold-out San Siro.

“I agree with what Bastoni said yesterday,” Mkhitaryan said. “We’ll have to play at 200% to win this match.
“We know it could take us to the final, and that’s the dream for all of us.
“There are never easy matches, every game is a struggle. We’ll suffer again tonight, and we’ll suffer together because we want to win.
“We’re playing at home with our fans, and it would be wonderful to celebrate with them.”
Inter can draw confidence from their stellar home record at Europe’s top table.
Indeed, they’ve not lost any of their last 16 Champions League outings at San Siro.
Furthermore, they boast an impressive record against Spanish opposition.
They have only lost four of their previous 26 home matches against La Liga clubs while racking up 12 wins.
