Everton will look to maintain their unbeaten run to six games in the Premier League when they take on Manchester United at Goodison Park on Saturday.
David Moyes has made an instant impact since returning to his former club to replace Sean Dyche. The Toffees have picked up four wins and a draw, but Moyes worries about the lack of depth in the squad.
As many as nine players are currently out injured, but Everton fans will be thrilled to hear that Abdoulaye Doucure and Carlos Alcaraz are both fit.
Alcaraz, who joined in the January transfer window, started in the previous game against Crystal Palace and scored the winner for his new club.
Moyes said: “We’ve got them [Carlos Alcaraz and Abdoulaye Doucoure] both fit at the moment. That gives us a decision to make. I’ll need both of them. We’re really short of numbers here, we’ve got nine or 10 players out injured.”
The Toffees boss has also provided an update on Iliman Ndiaye, who is currently out with a knee ligament injury.
Earlier this month it was feared that he would be out for a long spell, but Moyes has confirmed today that may not be the case.
He added: “Ili [Ndiaye] has been taking injections and we’re quite positive that he’s working hard to get back quickly, so we’re hoping we can get him back maybe before than the time we thought – but they’re not fit just now.”
Orel Mangala, Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja, Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson and Youssef Chermiti are all out at the moment.
Man Utd have suffered back-to-back defeats in the league, and they are one point and a place below Everton. Depending on the other results, Everton could climb further up the table with a win on Saturday.
