Where will England play their group games?

The Lionesses will be the final team to kick off their tournament at Euro 2025, with Sarina Wiegman’s team flying out to Zurich to acclimatise and set up a base camp for the duration of the competition.

England’s Euros will get underway at the Stadion Letzigrund, where they will face France on Saturday, July 5th.

The Zurich-based stadium is home to Zurich Grasshoppers and Zurich Frauen, and it will be the largest ground England plays in during the group stage with a maximum capacity of 22,700.

Following their game against France, the Lionesses will have a four day break before they make a short 85km trip to the East of Switzerland where they will prepare to face the Netherlands on matchday 2.

The reigning Euro 2022 champions will play game two of their title defence in Arena St.Gallen which has a capacity of 16,300 fans.

England will remain in St. Gallen for the final group stage fixture on July 13th where they face another home nation in Wales. The Lionesses will play again at Arena St. Gallen for the final match in Group D.

Knockout stage

It would be a huge shock to see the Lionesses dumped out of the tournament considering they are strong contenders to retain their title. England ranks among the top three favourites to win it all again this summer.

Should they advance to the quarter finals as the top team from Group D, England will travel to Basel where they will take on the runners up of Group C (Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden).

If they struggle in the group stage and finish runners up, the Lionesses will take on Group C winners in Zurich.
