Terms between Manchester City and Erling Haaland are set to be finalised in the near future over an extended contractual agreement for the Norwegian striker.

The Norway international has been nothing short of a transformational signing at the Etihad Stadium since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in a £52 million agreement back in the summer of 2022.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, Erling Haaland is now poised to sign a ‘lucrative’ new contract to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2029.

Signing a new agreement with the 24-year-old will come as a major boost to all those within the Etihad Stadium, with the striker consistently attracting interest from across the European game, particularly from Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

There has been a long-standing belief in various quarters that Erling Haaland’s present Manchester City contract contains a release clause which the Premier League champions agreed to upon signing the player two seasons ago.

However, there remains an element of uncertainty as to whether a release clause would be removed from an updated agreement, or whether the value of such a clause would simply be increased to reflect his growing status in the game.
