This has been a disastrous campaign for Tottenham Hotspur, and Ange Postecoglou’s future is on the line.
Spurs are 14th in the Premier League table, but they can salvage pride this season if they win the Europa League.
This could hamper their transfer plans in the summer window, and Daniel Levy could run out of patience with Postecoglou, especially if the results do not improve.
Nevertheless, the North London club continue to scout players and prepare targets for the upcoming window.
VfB Stuttgart attacking midfielder Enzo Millot has emerged as one of their summer targets, but Spurs could face competition from London rivals Arsenal. Saudi Pro League clubs are also interested in him.
According to a report from Bild, Millot has a £16.7 million release clause in his contract, and any potential suitor will look to trigger.
The French midfielder has been enjoying a stellar campaign for the German side.
He has made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga (19 starts), scoring four goals and providing four assists.
Millot also impressed in the Champions League. He scored two goals and provided three assists in eight games.
He is currently with the French U-21 squad, and whilst on international duty, the midfielder has stated his desire to move elsewhere.
“A departure? Yes, of course, that’s a goal I’ve set for myself. To be able to take a step forward,” he said, as quoted by Bild.
The 22-year-old is a versatile player, similar to Archie Gray.
He has played as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder (across all positions), an attacking wide midfielder (both right and left), a number ten, and a striker.
Millot looks like an exciting player, but Spurs could struggle to sign him. The midfielder could look to join a club that can offer him Champions League football, and Spurs may not be able to do that next season.
