Enzo Maresca is still on course to achieve the two objectives that were apparently set for him when he first joined Chelsea in the summer.

Chelsea’s big spending continues and it will continue into the summer as they look to snap up young talents and sell players.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s plans for Jadon Sancho revealed!

Chelsea have been signing up all the new players and have even confirmed two more new signings that will be completed down the line, with two youngsters arriving from Sporting soon.

And the spending will not be stopping there, and as well as that, we are also starting to hear a lot about how the club will be looking to sell a lot of current players in order to help fund the new signings as well as make room for them.

Maresca has two objectives though, according to a report from The Daily Mirror this morning.

The report claims that Chelsea have two objectives this season, secure Champions League qualification and win the UEFA Conference League.

Ryan Taylor, who wrote the report, continues on to say:

‘Should Enzo Maresca achieve both goals, his debut Stamford Bridge campaign can surely be considered a success However, tensions amongst the club’s disgruntled fanbase are now on a knife-edge following a series of underwhelming displays.

‘The home atmosphere has become notably flat at Stamford Bridge in recent months and the issue is becoming a real problem for Maresca as there is a clear disconnect between supporters and a team seemingly starved of imagination and expression.’

I think this is all fair to say really and the supporters not buying into Maresca’s style of play is one of the main reasons I had concerns about hiring him. I saw it all before with Maurizio Sarri as well. Many stadium fans will just not accept that style of football at Stamford Bridge, whether that is right or wrong.
