Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is set to rest a number of players in their next Club World Cup game in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

It’s not exactly blown up with big Chelsea transfer news but this is probably because at the moment the club have been concentrating on playing in the Club World Cup.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have three goalkeeper targets and are still in for Mike Maignan and want to sell two current GKs!

I’m fully convinced Chelsea will go for a goalkeeper still this window but it is something that will happen later on in the window. And despite the Mike Maignan thing consistently being played down now, I can still see Chelsea going back for him – as is actually reported in the story above!

There is also a situation bubbling up with Andrey Santos, who will be disappointed not to have played yet for Chelsea in the Club World Cup and will surely be weighing up his own future right now. The Santos noise is soon going to start increasing.

Blues play tomorrow morning

It’s a 2pm kick off on Wednesday morning UK time, meaning that most Chelsea fans in the UK will not be watching Chelsea’s next Club World Cup game against ES Tunis.

Chelsea just need to avoid defeat to go to the knockout stages of the competition after winning one and losing one so far in the competition.

The Independent report that Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca will rest a number of players for the team’s final Club World Cup group fixture against Esperance de Tunis on Tuesday, with Reece James among those likely to sit out.

Captain James is unwell and did not train on Monday while fellow defender Levi Colwill is likely to be left out having also been suffering from illness.
