West Ham are understood to be targeting Southampton teenage sensation Tyler Dibling, according to reports.
The 18 year old midfielder has burst onto the scene this season for the Saints, having caught the eye of many others as the Hammers enter the race to land the England U21 star.
The Hammers Technical Director Tim Steidten lead a huge summer spend, which coincided with the arrival of Head Coach Julen Lopetegui, who replaced David Moyes at the helm.
Lopetegui though is under significant pressure following a dire start to life in east London, with the team looking well below the pace under the Spaniard.
One aspect of the issue is the midfield, with West Ham looking far too slow to cope with many other sides, which is something the club are now scrambling to address.
According to Caught Offside, West Ham are now joining the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in the hope of signing Dibling – although any move is more likely to be in the summer, with Southampton highly unlikely to sell mid season as they battle to avoid relegation.
West Ham will also have higher priorities on the list in the new year, with a new striker a must with Michail Antonio seriously injured and Niclas Fullkrug seeking a return to Germany.
