England failed to impress again as Senegal came from behind to earn a deserved win
England suffered their first defeat under Thomas Tuchel as they were beaten by Senegal.
Harry Kane had put England ahead after just seven minutes when he turned home Anthony Gordon’s saved effort.
Senegal, however, looked threatening all game and they were deservedly level before the break through Ismaila Sarr.
Habib Diarra put them in front just after the hour mark and, after England were denied a late equaliser when VAR chalked off Jude Bellingham’s effort, the visitors snatched a third through Cheikh Sabaly.

Dean Henderson 6
Made three decent saves before conceding towards the end of the first half. Perhaps a bit slow getting off his line for Senegal’s second goal.

A nightmare night for the right-back. Looked off the pace and was on his heels for Senegal’s opening goal. Did create a golden chance for Gordon with a great cross.
Trevoh Chalobah 6
Handed his England debut and did okay. Arguably could have done better for Senegal’s opening goal, when Nicolas Jackson got in behind him.
Levi Colwill 6
Partnered with his Chelsea team-mate and saw plenty of the ball. Made one error early in the second half, but otherwise solid.
Myles Lewis-Skelly 5
Looked leggy, which is no surprise after a season where he has played far more than anyone could have imagined. Senegal got in down his flank too easily for their second goal.
Bukayo Saka 6
Had a pretty quiet game, but was denied a goal midway through the second half after a brilliant save by Edouard Mendy.
Declan Rice 6
A steady display, although not as imposing as he can be. Looked a bit like he was feeling the effects of a long season.
Conor Gallagher 6
A solid enough performance in midfield - and he was busy off the ball. Did not pull up any trees, though, and taken off before the hour mark.
Anthony Gordon 5
Was fairly bright out on his wing got Krepin Diatta booked early on after skipping past him. Missed a sitter, however, during the first half.
Harry Kane 6
The only player to keep his place in the team from Saturday’s win over Andorra. In the right place, at the right time, to put England ahead.

Did well in the build-up to the opening goal by winning the ball high up the pitch. Created a good chance for Morgan Gibbs-White with a lovely touch and flick.
Substitutions
Morgan Gibbs-White (Gordon 58’) 7
Brought some energy off the bench and drew a strong save from Mendy. Teed up Saka for a good chance, too.
Mason Rogers (Gallagher 59’) 5
Brought on upfront in favour of Ivan Toney, but was largely quiet.
Curtis Jones (Rogers 59’) 5
Played right-back at the weekend, but on in midfield here. Caught in possession for Senegal’s third.
Jude Bellingham (Rice 71’) 6
Throw on with 20 minutes to go and had an equaliser ruled out by VAR.
Noni Madueke (Saka 71’) 6
Created a great chance for Ivan Toney late on, but he misjudged the head badly.
