Slavia Prague hold firm but the Hammers are making progress in negotiations for the Senegalese defender.
El Hadji Malick Diouf
West Ham United are not giving up on El Hadji Malick Diouf. Despite seeing their initial offer rejected by Slavia Prague, the English club remain determined to sign the Senegalese defender this summer and are reportedly in advanced talks over a transfer worth around €25 million.
El Hadji Malick Diouf remains one of West Ham’s top priorities in this summer transfer window. A few days ago, the London club stepped up their pursuit by submitting an offer of around €20 million to Slavia Prague. However, the Czech side responded with a firm ‘no’, deeming the sum insufficient for a player of his caliber.
Undeterred, the Hammers have pulled ahead of rivals such as Atalanta, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth. West Ham have now improved their bid: the latest proposal stands at £21.5 million, or €25 million, excluding bonuses. This would be a record fee for a transfer from the Czech league. A final agreement between the two clubs now appears imminent. El Hadji Malick Diouf could arrive in London as early as this weekend for his medical tests.
