Elye Wahi (22) is nearing a move away from Olympique de Marseille, just six months after joining the club, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
Wahi joined OM from RC Lens in the summer for a fee of €25m, however, he failed to establish himself, even losing his place in the starting XI to Neal Maupay, brought in to be a back-up option. After three goals in 14 appearances, he is set to join Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side have been in discussions with Marseille regarding the signing of the France youth international, however, there was a gap in valuation. That gap now looks to have been breached somewhat with Frankfurt increasing their offer, as per Romano.
Marseille had been looking to recoup the fee that they paid in the summer and Frankfurt’s latest package is worth over €25m. A deal is now getting closer whilst Wahi himself has already agreed to join the Bundesliga side.
