Bayern Munich were very interested in bringing in Nick Woltemade, after he had a great season for Stuttgart in 2024/25. However, Bayern were not prepared to pay the sum Stuttgart demanded for the striker and a deal ultimately fell through.

Stuttgart were set to keep Woltemade for another year, before a huge €90 million bid from Newcastle changed their minds - Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl has now commented on the big-money-move:

“I don't know if it was a strategic transfer or a desperate move because Isak [Newcastle's current striker] is leaving for Liverpool. What happens in the Premier League is none of our business.”

“It's a fact that extraordinary prices have been paid and will continue to be paid there. We're working on our strategy - and that's to act economically sensible and still set up the squad to be successful both domestically and internationally. That's our job.”

Bayern Munich are currently working on securing one or two loan moves until the transer window closes on September 1st. Nicolas Jackson was close to being a new signing, but his move is currently in jeopardy, since Chelsea refuse to let him go, even though a verbal agreement has been communicated. One of Chelsea's other strikers, Liam Delap, has suffered an injury and Jackson is now supposed to fill that gap in London.
