Darwin Nunez is guaranteed to leave Liverpool this summer.

There's just no way the Uruguayan is going to be staying at Anfield. He's out of favour under Arne Slot and Liverpool were open to selling him in January as revealed exclusively by Anfield Watch.

Back then, a move didn't quite work out with Saudi clubs unable to reach Liverpool's asking price. But that is going to change this summer.

More clubs are going to be on the market to sign the Liverpool forward. A move to Saudi Arabia is still a possibility. However, European sides are also going to be competing for his signature.

Who wins the race for Nunez remains to be seen. It's a deal that needs to work for Liverpool as well. That's why we've exclusively revealed that Liverpool would be willing to sell him for a cut price to Atletico Madrid only - if they could land Julian Alvarez in return.

But the Spanish side are not the only European club who have something to offer to Liverpool. There's another side who are interested in Nunez who also possess exactly what the Reds are seeking.

That side is Napoli, who are interested in Nunez and have put him at the top of their shortlist of transfer targets according to Matteo Moretto.

This will be music to Liverpool's ears. If they can't agree a deal with Atletico, there is a chance for the Reds to strike a dream agreement with Napoli instead.

As we revealed exclusively, Liverpool's other main target to replace Nunez is Victor Osimhen - the Reds were ready to sign him in January and they are still interested in the Nigerian.

Osimhen is a world-class forward in the prime of his career. He's made 41 goal contributions in 37 matches for Galatasaray this season and Anfield Watch understands he's valued around £60m by Napoli.

Liverpool value Nunez in excess of £70m, which is an offer that the Reds rejected for the Uruguayan in the winter window.

Any deal to sell Nunez would have to exceed that mark, unless it's a swap deal with Atletico for Alvarez.

But signing Osimhen might be an even better deal for the Reds. It's a dream transfer that might even negate the need for FSG to spend any money.

There's an opportunity here for Liverpool to agree a direct swap deal. Napoli value Osimhen at around the same figure as Liverpool value Nunez.

So, why spend the money when you can just sanction a move between the two parties involved that works out better for everyone.

Opportunities like that don't come around often and that is why Liverpool should grab this opportunity with both hands. The door is now wide open for Richard Hughes to secure the best possible scenario for the club in their efforts to sign Nunez this summer.

A scenario that is simply the stuff of dreams.
