Done deal: Bernardeschi set for Serie A return with Bologna

Federico Bernardeschi has a deal in place with Bologna to return to Serie A after a three-year spell away in MLS with Toronto FC, multiple outlets in Italy are reporting.
Bernardeschi, who recently terminated his Toronto contract, along with former Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne, has an agreement in place with Bologna and is expected to undergo the final formalities of a transfer in the coming days.
According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Bernardeschi will sign a two-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months, which could see him through until the summer of 2028.

The 31-year-old, who turned out 183 times for Juventus and has 93 Fiorentina appearances to his name, will wear the no.10 shirt during his first season with Bologna.
According to Friday’s updates, the 39-time Italy international will earn around €1.8m per season on his new contract with Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna side.
