Dinamo Zagreb talent Martin Baturina has opted to knock back a contract proposal on the part of La Liga giants Real Madrid.
That’s according to transfer insider Patrick Berger, who has on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Baturina, for his part, is a 21-year-old attack-minded midfielder, who has long been making a name for himself as one of the standout talents in his home country of Croatia.
Across the season to date, the youngster has racked up 17 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with two goals and seven assists along the way.
And such endeavours, it is understood, have begun to pique the attentions of the continent’s leading clubs.
As per the aforementioned Patrick Berger, in fact, one such club have gone as far as to put a proposal on the table, to bring Baturina in.
The offer, lodged by Real Madrid, however, has since been rebuffed by the player himself.
‘The Spaniards tempted him with a five-year contract, but Real’s plan also included loaning Baturina out within Spain for two years.’
This prospect does not appeal to the midfielder, who is eager to establish himself as a key figure at a leading European club as early as next season.
Owing to as much, Baturina has made the call to rebuff the reigning La Liga and Champions League holders for the time being.
