Throughout the season Dias has visited a CITC BTEC session, surprising participants before taking part in a smoothie making challenge, as well as visiting a Premier League Inspires session, where he shocked participant Randa, with a very special Community Matchday experience.

Dias also helped profile City in the Community by recording CITC related announcements on matchday tram and bus routes.

Dias received this award from a group of CITC Degree and InclusCITY participants, who sat down with Ruben to discuss the impact CITC has had on their lives.

Commenting on the award, he said: “Well, I’m very happy with it. I still feel like I want to do more and that’s the only thing in my mind to be very honest with you.

"Obviously, it’s one of them it’s a nice recognition to get but I want to do a lot more so hopefully we will continue.”

Thomas took part in an International Women’s Day Quiz, alongside former City Girls participants, Grace and Alex, who are now staff members at CITC.

Before receiving her award, Thomas attended another City Girls session, where she met more young participants, learning about their involvement in CITC. The group then presented Thomas with her Community Champion Award.

Commenting on the receival of her award, she said: “Learning more about City in the Community this year has been really valuable.

"It is great to see CITC providing opportunities for young girls to develop their football and social skills, helping to create Healthy Futures and pathways for them to thrive.”

The PFA Community Champion award aims to raise awareness of the great support the PFA members provide to their Club’s community activities during the season.

City in the Community empowers healthier lives with city youth through football.
