With Mohamed Salah penning a renewal with Liverpool, and Vinicius Junior set to do the same at Real Madrid, Saudi Arabia are looking for their next marquee signing. Following the departure of Neymar Junior in January back to Brazil, his former club Al-Hilal are keen to bring in a star forward.

In recent days, Saudi officials traveled to Barcelona to discuss potential deals this summer, with four players very much on their radar. The answer from the Blaugrana was no to all of their sales – at least for the time being – hinting that situation could change. One of the names on their list was another Brazilian star, Raphinha, who has enjoyed the best season of his career so far, and has even been mentioned as a Ballon d’Or candidate.

As per 365 Scores,as carried by Sport, Saudi Arabia have already layed out the terms of a potential deal for Raphinha. They would be willing to offer the 28-year-old a four-year deal worth a total of €200m, or €50m per season. That would be a raise of somewhere between six and ten times what he is currently earning at Barcelona. Meanwhile in terms of a transfer fee, Barcelona would be set to make €100m from the deal.

That would satisfy the reported €80-90m price tag that Barcelona have set for him. There appear to be some that believe that this is the ideal time to cash in on Raphinha, but with the Brazilian keen to stay, negotiations are underway for a potential extension at the same time.

Raphinha has spoken openly in recent months about his plans to leave the club last summer, feeling unwanted by the club, but noting that Hansi Flick convinced him to remain in Spain. It seems unlikely that Raphinha would be willing to leave at the peak of his career, having turned down an offer to go to the Middle East last summer.
