Inter Miami CF are coming off of a 2024 season in which they won Supporters Shield. As the club is aiming to win even more in 2025, Miami are trying to clear some salary space to build another contender in 2025. First, the club has sold standout youngster and Paraguay international Diego Gomez to English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion for a reported $15m fee plus add ons that could see the deal rise to over $18m. The 21 year old midfielder won a Supporters Shield and Leagues Cup title during his tenure with Inter Miami.

Miami has also traded striker Leo Campana to the New England Revolution for $2.5m in GAM, potential for another $750k in GAM, an international roster spot, and retaining some sell on % for Campana if sold outside of MLS. The $2.5m in GAM is now the MLS record GAM transfer in league history. The 24 year old Ecuador international looks to be the staple new 9 for Caleb Porter’s side moving forward. Campana has 40 goal contributions in 100 career games for Inter Miami while winning a Supporters Shield and Leagues Cup.

It will be interesting to see what Javier Maserchano does with this major influx of GAM from the departures of Gomez and Campana. This gives the Inter Miami front office a ton of additional funds to work with heading into 2025 where a CONCACAF Champions Cup and MLS Cup have to be their top targets.
