AC Milan are closing in on a deal to sign 2006-born Wolfsburg defender David Odogu, as Fabrizio Romano reports.
Odogu (19) has been at the club since the age of 14 and, during his development at the Wolves’ academy, became an U17 World Cup and European Championship winner for Germany’s youth side in 2023.
Having joined from Union Berlin’s academy, the youngster made his debut against his former side on Matchday 28 of the 2024/25 season. In total, Odogu made three Bundesliga appearances in the latter stages of the previous campaign.
Wolfsburg have given both Odogu and Milan the green light to finalise a deal on deadline day, with the player not in new manager Paul Simonis’ plans. However, VfL remain optimistic that they can likewise strengthen their own defensive options today and have been working on deals for central defenders Kristoffer Ajer from Brentford and Wout Faes from Leicester, according to kicker.
