Darboe suffers season-ending foot injury | OneFootball

Ebrima Darboe has concluded his season earlier than anticipated.

The Gambian midfielder, on loan to Frosinone but owned by Roma, suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his left foot in the last match played in Cesena. The instrumental examinations, carried out in Villa Stuart, confirmed the need for surgery, probably scheduled before Easter.

Just over a month from the end of the Serie B season, the injury forces Darboe to say goodbye to the field for the rest of the season. Even assuming a miraculous qualification of Frosinone in the playoffs, the physical recovery would still be incompatible with the timing of the competition. A bitter end for a player who, during a difficult year for the Ciociari, had managed to carve out a central role in Bianco’s midfield, contributing to the team’s rise out of the relegation zone.

After recovery, Darboe is expected to report back at Trigoria in July for preseason when his future will be addressed by the club.
