Barcelona remain open to operations that would benefit the club both right now and in the long term. After all, the club’s financial situation is no secret anymore and they would be open to assess operations that help improve it. From player sales to sponsorships, Barcelona are evaluating various avenues.

Just recently, reports have come out suggesting that the club could look to renegotiate their current terms with shirt sponsor Spotify. Beyond that, the club remains clear that certain players will have to leave this summer due to both registration-related concerns and due to certain positions having more players than needed.

However, at times certain market opportunities can pop up that the club simply has to take into account. Interest in players can come from all sorts of places, and when it comes from a place that is willing to offer a lucrative deal, such options have to be seriously considered.

According to the information provided by Fichajes, Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo has personally requested the signing of Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender remains linked to a possible exit this summer, and this might just be the kind of lucrative option that stands out for him.

The report highlights that the interest of the Saudi Arabian side in the 29-year-old Danish defender is not exactly new. However, the personal request from Ronaldo himself stands out, and the reported reasoning behind this request is that the forward believes Christensen’s arrival would bring the required experience and stability that his team needs.

Barcelona also willing to offload the player

Reportedly, Al-Nassr is also currently the most likely destination for the Barcelona centre-back. Moreover, with his contract set to expire in a year’s time, Barça are hoping to generate some income from his transfer rather than ending up losing him for free by next year.

Even aside from Christensen, however, there are certain exit operations that Barcelona will look to wrap up this summer. After all, the club needs to free up the required space so that they can register new signings like Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford.
