Ismael Bennacer has not had the best injury luck during his time with AC Milan, but his return from the latest setback is getting closer.
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) recall this morning, Bennacer has been struggling with an injury that has kept him out of action since the beginning of September. He is working in Qatar at present with a dedicated trainer to recover from the injury to the medial calf muscle of his right calf.
It was not just a strain that he sustained but rather a very serious third-degree lesion that required surgery, as well as a cautious rehabilitation program and patience. The ex-Empoli man flew to Finland for the muscle repair operation, then the rehabilitation process at the Aspetar clinic in Doha began.
It is estimated that in a month Bennacer will return to training at Milanello with individual sessions, because as mentioned the type of injury requires things not to be rushed. After that, in January he should resume full training with Paulo Fonseca’s squad.
The Milan coach will wait for him with open arms because during that period every option will be vital in an extremely busy calendar of commitments. In the meantime the Rossoneri are considering a January signing, given the reliance on Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders.
