Corinthians extend loan deal for Under-20 striker

On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 2, forward Luiz Fábio, who is part of the Corinthians Under-20 squad, had his loan renewal with the Alvinegro registered in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID). The previous contract was only valid until December 2025.

Central do Timão found that the loan contract was renewed until March 2026, with a purchase option set for February of the same year. It is worth noting that the player belongs to Capivariano, a club from the interior of São Paulo. Since arriving at Parque São Jorge, he has played seven matches for Timãozinho and has yet to score goals.

Luiz Fábio had his first contract with Corinthians registered on February 28, 2025, and was the 62nd signing for the youth department during Augusto Melo's tenure, who was definitively removed from office on August 9. He had been away from the presidency since May 26.

In 2024, Luiz Fábio played 11 matches for Capivariano and scored only one goal. In total, during Melo's tenure, there were 87 signings for the department in question, where Claudinei Alves served as general director. Since the impeachment, 37 athletes have been released from Corinthians' youth categories – most acquired during Augusto Melo's presidency.

After Osmar Stabile assumed the presidency, initially on an interim basis and now permanently until December 2026, he appointed Carlos Alberto Auricchio to lead Corinthians' youth alongside executive Alex Brasil, contracted between September and October 2024.

Luiz Fábio and the Corinthians Under-20 team return to the field on September 5, Friday, at 3:00 PM (Brasília time), to face XV de Piracicaba away from home, for the first leg of the second phase of the Paulista Championship of the category.
