The 2024 Copa America came to an end on Sunday night with Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and his Argentina side lifting the trophy yet another time, seeing off Colombia thanks to an extra-time goal from Lautaro Martinez.

Meanwhile, another Barça legend, Luis Suarez, secured third place finish with Uruguay after beating Canada on penalties.

The Blaugrana had several players representing their national teams during the current off-season, with two of them featuring in the Copa America in Raphinha and Ronald Araujo. Here’s how they fared at the tournament in the USA.

Raphinha: 6/10

Barcelona’s second representative at the Copa America, Raphinha endured an average run at the tournament, much like the Brazilian national team.

The 27-year-old winger started three of the Selecao’s four matches at the tournament, scoring one goal – a stunning free-kick in the 1-1 draw against Colombia in the group stages. Worked hard but was unable to exert a great influence on the proceedings.

Ronald Araujo: 7/10

A permanent fixture at the heart of the defence for the Uruguayan national team under Marcelo Bielsa, Ronald Araujo had a solid showing at the Euros every time he was out on the pitch.

The Barcelona defender was taken off due to exhaustion in the opener against Panama but came back and helped his team to clean sheets against Bolivia and the USA while even registering a couple of assists.

Starting against Brazil in the quarterfinals, Araujo suffered a hamstring injury though and missed the semifinals and the third-place playoff. He is set to be sidelined for a couple of months.
