Lazio have reportedly regained the services of Manuel Lazzari who is ready to make his return from injury against Como, but Mario Gila and club captain Mattia Zaccagni remain doubtful for Thursday’s contest.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazzari has been medically cleared, so he’ll receive a call-up for the midweek Serie A contest. However, the newspaper still expects Adam Marusic to retain his starting spot at right-back despite a slight knock picked up during the 3-0 victory over Genoa on Sunday.
Moreover, Alessio Romagnoli will return after serving a one-match ban. The former Milan captain is thus tipped to start against Cesc Fabregas’ band, while Samuel Gigot and Patric will be vying for a spot alongside him. On the other hand, Gila could skip the encounter after receiving a blow to his right thigh last weekend.
On the left flank, Marco Baroni will either keep the enchanting Nuno Tavares or drop him in favour of Luca Pellegrini. In the middle of the park, Matias Vecino is expected to start following his superb cameo against Genoa. Therefore, the Lazio coach could hand Matteo Guendouzi some rest.
The Roman newspaper also reveals that Zaccagni is still struggling with a fever, so his availability for Thursday remains uncertain. Baroni will likely hand Pedro a starting role, while Taty Castellanos, Boulaye Dia, Gustav Isaksen and Loum Tchaouna are all ready and raring to go, but the coach’s selections could largely depend on Zaccagni’s fate.
(4-2-3-1): Provedel; Marusic, Romagnoli, Patric, Pellegrini; Rovella, Vecino; Isaksen, Dia, Pedro; Castellanos.
