I would just like to congratulate Steve Bruce.

Steve Bruce has now created a piece of history.

The former Sunderland and Newcastle United boss having been named League One Manager of the Month (see below).

Going down in history as the first Blackpool manager to ever win his first four league matches.

I now unreservedly apologise on behalf of all Newcastle United fans who, like myself, thought he was useless.

Steve Bruce clearly having proven all NUFC fans wrong and simply bitter and undeserving, according to some Blackpool fans anyway.

With Erik ten Hag set to be sacked, surely now it is only a matter of time before Steve Bruce can take his rightful place at Manchester United, the club he supports, his true love.

He will of course be very sorry to leave the Blackpool fans behind after two minutes in the job, but as Sheffield Wednesday fans and those of many other clubs know, it is all about Steve Bruce.

Hopefully Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth will take his record breaking award and creating Blackpool history at face value and not scratch under the surface. Where they will find out that Steve Bruce actually lost his second game in charge at Blackpool, amusingly at home against Sheffield Wednesday….

Whilst since the four league wins in September, Blackpool have then drawn at home with Lincoln and lost at Mansfield.

The only question now is, will Manchester United come calling before the Blackpool lights (illuminations) go out…

Blackpool official media release on Steve Bruce – 11 October 2024:

‘Steve Bruce has been named September’s Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month.

Bruce, 63, won all four of his opening four league matches with the Seasiders – the first Blackpool boss in the Club’s history to achieve such a feat. Victories included a dramatic late win over Exeter in his opening game, followed by memorable away victories at both Charlton and Huddersfield. The month ended with a 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.

On the award, Steve Bruce said:

“This award is deserved-recognition of how well the team has done since our arrival here last month.

“It has been a hectic opening few weeks since I joined the Club, with matches every three or four days. The players have done incredibly well to pick up our ideas and apply them to the matches so quickly, and we’ve got to be pleased with the start we have made.

“We need to do more of the same over the coming months if we want to be successful, and I’m confident we have a strong enough group who can continue to push on this season.”
