Manchester City will hope to end a seven-game winless streak when Nottingham Forest visit the Etihad Stadium in fine form of their own on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola and his players will be hoping to record their first win in any competition since a 1-0 victory over Southampton on October 26, and also end a four-game losing streak in the Premier League this week.
It was yet another defeat in the top-flight the last time out for Manchester City as Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win at Anfield over the reigning league champions thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
A home meeting with Nottingham Forest is one of many major fixtures for Manchester City in December alone, with top-flight clashes away to Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Leicester City alongside the much-talked-about home Manchester derby against Ruben Amorim’s side.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were coming into the meeting with Manchester City off the back of successive defeats in the Premier League until a 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town was recorded at home last time out thanks to a Chris Wood penalty.
City’s injury situation remains unchanged from the squad that visited Anfield on Sunday afternoon, with Rodri and Oscar Bobb joined by Mateo Kovacic and John Stones on the treatment table, as confirmed by Pep Guardiola.
