Alvaro Morata suffered a head injury before the international break, but he has now recovered in time for AC Milan’s clash against Juventus this weekend.
Morata’s start to life in Milan has certainly been difficult. The goals have not flowed as he or the club would have hoped, but context plays a large part in this. Not only has he played minutes as a second striker, but he has also suffered injuries.
He missed part of the season’s opening with a muscle injury, and then most recently suffered a head injury in training which kept him out of the Rossoneri’s game against Cagliari. Despite the blow, he still departed for national team duty – a decision which baffled Paulo Fonseca – and took part in Spain’s game against Switzerland on Monday evening.
As Calciomercato.com reports, the striker played the opening 45 minutes in the fixture, before making way at halftime. However, this was imaginably a tactical decision opposed to anything due to his injury.
Now, he has recovered, and his eyes are set on the Diavolo’s monumental game against Juventus this weekend. The report states he will be at the centre of Paulo Fonseca’s attack and after his performance against another of his former teams – Real Madrid – the Portuguese head coach, will hope for a similar performance.
