Bayer Leverkusen are in the market for a new central defender, and it is news that could impact both AC Milan and Juventus.
Calciomercato.com report that David Hancko’s future is yet to be written. The Slovakian defender has become a top-level Eredivisie player with Feyenoord, but at 27 years of age the feeling is that he is ready for the leap to a top European club.
Until a few weeks ago the feeling was that Hancko would become a Juventus player in June. The Old Lady have been moving for some time, Cristiano Giuntoli has already admired him since his years at Napoli and considers him an ideal reinforcement for the defence of the future.
He remains at the top of the list for the Juventus sporting director but the recent internal problems, with the dismissal of Thiago Motta, have not allowed him to proceed much with the agreements both with the player’s agents and with Feyenoord.
Hancko knows that the next few months will be his last in Rotterdam. The former Fiorentina player has requests in the Premier League and in the Bundesliga, where Bayer Leverkusen have already started the first contacts.
They want to satisfy the request for a physically strong and high-level central defender put forward by Xabi Alonso. Here Hancko’s destiny could intertwine with that of Milan’s Malick Thiaw: both are on the Spanish coach’s list, and they also have the same valuation of €25m.
