Chelsea are on a bad run right now, there’s no denying it and there’s no hiding from it anymore.
Since the 15th of December, the Blues have beaten just Wolves and West Ham in the league.
Their star players are out of form or injured, and there’s a dreadful sense that things area set to get worse rather than better. Coming up next there’s a mixed a bag of games, but this might actually be a bad time to play our winnable games.
Leicester and Southampton, both at home, should be our easiest fixtures of the season, at least on paper. Both of them look totally sunk and are leaking goals. But Chelsea are going to play both those games without their two strikers.

The dilemma is this – would you rather save those games for when we’re back to full strength and can almost guarantee 3 points, or do you want to risk taking them on now while we’re so depleted. Both teams will sit back and defend, and at the moment we look like we’ll struggle to break anyone down.
Can a team without Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu and Noni Madueke, and with Cole Palmer struggling for form, find the goals it needs to get past the basement boys? You’d hope so, but they will need someone to score the goals.
Christopher Nkunku is going to continue to leading the line, but we will need him to do a hell of a lot better than he has done in his last few games. He managed precisely 0 shots against Brighton over 180 minutes. To be fair, the team as a whole managed one shot on target in those games between them.
Aston Villa, Tottenham and Arsenal make up the other 3 games in our next 5 to come. They are far stronger, but they will at least come out and attack us a little.
