England hero Chloe Kelly has declared that “nothing changes” as she aims to “win everything” with Arsenal this season, as they look to break Chelsea’s stranglehold of the Women’s Super League (WSL).
It has been a rollercoaster year for Kelly, who started 2025 feeling that she would not make England’s Women’s Euros squad.
Over seven months later, Kelly has won the Champions League title with Arsenal, before playing a huge part in England’s Euro 2025 success in Switzerland.
She has also joined Arsenal in a permanent deal from Manchester City, after a loan spell during the second-half of last season.
Ahead of the new season, Kelly spoke to reporters to preview the 2025-26 WSL campaign.
Arsenal star Chloe Kelly said she is eager to get the season going, as Arsenal prepare for the start of the new WSL campaign.
The Gunners start the season on September 6th, against newly promoted London City Lionesses. Their opposition on that day have expressed their interest in signing Kelly’s teammate Beth Mead.
Kelly won the Champions League with Arsenal last season, but it could be a tough challenge to knock Chelsea off their WSL perch.
Since Arsenal last won the league in 2019, Chelsea have won the competition six times on the bounce.
Kelly told reporters: “It is definitely not hard to get going again. You want to get going straightaway. We have got competitions to win this season that we are so hungry for, and once you taste success, you want more of it, and we will continue to do that.
“For me, I just want to win everything that is possible, and my eyes are set high for this season with Arsenal, and future tournaments for England, too.”
Kelly also reflected on a journey that she described as crazy, following a difficult start to last season at Manchester City.
She had disagreements with former Man City head coach Gareth Taylor, which led to her exit on loan in January.
Taylor was sacked by City in March and enters the season as the new head coach of Liverpool.
Reflecting on how he views their spat, Taylor said it was normal that coaches are not going to make everyone happy on the team.
Kelly, speaking to reporters this week, said: “Everything happens for a reason, I’m a big believer in that.
“The journey has been a little bit crazy. Last season, the Champions League, not thinking I’ll even go to the Euros in January and then winning it with an amazing team. It is so special.”
