David Orsntein reports on The Athletic at the weekend that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Liam Delap over personal terms and the striker will join from Ipswich Town on a contract that runs until 2031, subject to completing his medical checks.

Next priority

After this, attention will turn towards a left winger, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who posted this on his X last night:

“Chelsea’s next priority after Liam Delap is a right-footed left winger. Alejandro Garnacho, Nico Williams and Jamie Gittens are three names under consideration. The desire to add another winger is more with Mykhailo Mudryk’s absence in mind. Process likely to take time regardless of the outcome.”

I’d imagine Chelsea will look to get a new winger in time to join them for the Club World Cup on June the 16th.
