Jorrel Hato’s move to Chelsea is almost done. Most sources say it’s already done, and Fabrizio Romano has given it the “here we go” treatment.
All that’s left now is to await the official announcement from the club.

That transfer has taken all the headlines in the last 48 hours, but before that the attention was on another Dutchman – Xavi Simons. Things have gone quiet on that front, but once Hato is wrapped up we expect Simons to be soon to follow.
The Football.London piece about the winger has some interesting facts about his footballing history. We thought it couldn’t get much better than playing at Barcelona’s La Masia and then PSG’s academy, but it turns out there’s more to it than that. Simons apparently “alsmost joined [Chelsea] as a child after a trial at Cobham.”
That didn’t work out, and he ended up in Spain, but he was still “an avid follower of the West Londoners when growing up.
As if we needed any more evidence that Simons would be likely to push for a move from RB Leipzig.
Simons, along with Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian, will make a triple arrival of incredibly dangerous
The departing Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho were solid last season – but this trio offer far more upside. It may take them all a while to settle – they’re all very young and pretty inexperienced – but all 3 have world class potential.
The dribbling and one on one threat alone from all of them is significant, and both Simons and Estevao have already shown they’ve got a significant eye for goal. Enzo Maresca has a wealth of options out wide now.
