Chelsea interested in Kim Min-jae, Bayern want Renato Veiga | OneFootball

Chelsea are interested in 28-year-old Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Despite already boasting several centre-backs on their books, the Blues may consider adding another to the ranks.

Hailed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel as ‘very complete’, the South Korean has been awful in Germany, and the Bavarians are trying to get him off their books.

Min-jae was supposed to shore up Bayern’s defence, but he has only added to the problems, and the Bundesliga champions want to sell.

Move for Min-jae makes no sense

Chelsea must stop signing players for the fun of it.

They should focus on selling excesses such as Axel Disasi and oft-injured Benoit Badiashile, while securing a loan deal for Aaron Anselmino.

Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr are enough.

The Blues have decided to sell Renato Veiga, even though he could be useful. Bayern have been linked with him.

A swap deal could be worked out, but Chelsea would be on the losing end.

Veiga can fill in at multiple positions and excelled on loan at Juventus. Min-jae has been underperforming in Germany.

If Veiga leaves, Chelsea would be better served moving for Ajax defender Jorrel Hato. Like Veiga, he can cover the centre-back and left-back roles.

He bagged two goals and six assists in 31 Eredivisie appearances last term to help the Amsterdammers back into the Champions League.

Hato also helped the club keep 11 clean sheets and captained the team on several occasions.

The Dutch youth international could cover for Colwill and Marc Cucurella.
