Chelsea complete signing of Joao Pedro from Brighton | OneFootball

Joao Pedro has said he has signed for Chelsea to ‘win’ after completing his transfer to the club from Brighton.

Chelsea have signed Pedro for a fee in excess of £50m with the Brazilian signing a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old impressed during his time on the South Coast, scoring 30 times in 70 appearances for the Seagulls. He broke into the Brazil set-up during his time at the Amex Stadium and has won three caps for the five-time world champions.

Pedro joins Enzo Maresca’s revamped attack, alongside fellow signing Liam Delap and youngster Estevao Willian, who will link up with the Blues from Palmeiras after the FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking after his transfer to Chelsea was completed, Pedro said he is relishing the opportunity to compete for major honours in West London.

“Everyone knows this is a big club with a great history,”  he told the club’s official website.

“They had brilliant players in the past and have brilliant players now. So I am excited to join and you know when you are a Chelsea player you must think one thing — win.”
