In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Chelsea are working on a deal to land Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia this summer. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Spanish forward this off-season.

Gonzalo’s Impressive Rise In Spanish Football

Gonzalo came through the youth ranks of Real Madrid and managed to break out as a first-team starter for them recently. The 21-year-old has made ten senior appearances for Los Blancos so far, scoring four goals and earning a couple of assists across multiple competitions.

The Spanish prospect has caught the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of Real Madrid’s attack. Hence, it is no surprise that Chelsea are keen on recruiting him in this summer transfer window.

His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Chelsea would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Gonzalo in this transfer window.

Gonzalo can make some clever runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area and has got the vision to orchestrate a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.

The Spanish talent can shoot the ball with power from long range but needs to be more productive in front of the opponent’s goal. He is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to be a consistent performer in top-flight football. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether Gonzalo would be able to adjust to the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League.

We can expect Gonzalo to bring more firepower to Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca’s frontline in the long run. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting spot at the West London club in the coming seasons.
