Chelsea have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

However, The Telegraph journalist Matt Law has shut down those rumours, claiming that the Blues are not in active talks to sign the Champions League winner this summer.

Donnarumma has told PSG that he wants to leave the club after turning down contract renewal offers.

He is entering the final year of his contract at the French capital, but neither the player nor the club could see eye to eye on renewal terms, forcing PSG to push for a sale.

They’d rather cash in on the 26-year-old this summer rather than lose him on a free transfer next year.

Donnarumma has been heavily tipped to move to the Premier League. Manchester City and Manchester United have been touted as potential destinations.

Galatasaray and Bayern Munich are the other European clubs reportedly tracking Donnarumma, but Law has ruled out a summer move to Stamford Bridge for the former AC Milan shot stopper.

Chelsea are happy with their goalkeeping set-up at the moment. Robert Sanchez has established himself as Enzo Maresca’s trusted number one shot stopper, with Filip Jorgensen set to play back up.

Talented goalkeeper Mike Penders has joined sister club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan, while Djordje Petrovic has joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal worth around £25 million.

Chelsea were in the market for a new goalkeeper earlier this summer. They were locked in talks to sign Milan and France number one Mike Maignan.

However, despite agreeing personal terms with the keeper, they could not find common ground with Milan over a suitable transfer fee.

Since then, the club has ruled out making another move for a goalkeeper.

Chelsea reportedly made a move for Maignan because they saw a market opportunity that was too good to ignore. Having failed to complete a move, the Blues will head into the new season with Sanchez between the sticks.
