Chelsea announce the arrival of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens | OneFootball

Chelsea have officially confirmed the signing of highly rated English winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund.

The 20-year-old joins the Blues on a seven-year contract running until 2032, with the transfer fee reported to be £48.5 million plus an additional £3.5 million in performance-based add-ons.

Chelsea secured Bynoe-Gittens’ signature after weeks of negotiations, fending off late interest from Bayern Munich.

The deal was finalised in the United States where both Chelsea and Dortmund are currently in action at the Club World Cup.

“It feels great,” Bynoe-Gittens said on the completion of his move to Stamford Bridge.

“It’s a great feeling to join such a big club as Chelsea.

“I can’t wait to learn from everyone in the team and to push myself to the max here. It’s an amazing feeling.”

While the Englishman is predominantly a left winger, he can also operate on the right or as a central attacking midfielder.

Bynoe-Gittens spent time in the youth systems of Reading, Chelsea, and Manchester City before moving to Dortmund in 2020, where he made his professional debut in 2022.

Bynoe-Gittens’ arrival is Chelsea’s third attacking acquisition of the window and the latest in what is expected to be a summer of reshuffling at the top end of the pitch.

Having bade farewell to Jadon Sancho following the end of his loan spell from Manchester United, Chelsea could also head into the next season without Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke.

Madueke is currently in discussions with Arsenal over a switch to the Emirates, and his departure could open the door for Chelsea to intensify their interest in Mohammed Kudus.
