Cercle Brugge have announced the signing of Austrian youngster Oluwaseun Adewumi on loan for the 2025/2026 campaign. The 20-year-old joins from Premier League side Burnley for the next few months, with the clubs having also agreed an undisclosed purchase agreement as part of the deal. Cercle Brugge have struggled to start the season and will be hoping that the Burnley youngster can turn things around. So far, the Belgian side are the only team in the Pro League not to score a goal after three games.

Adewumi joined Burnley in 2024 from Austrian side Floridsdorfer AC. The attacking midfielder played 55 games for the side and scored six goals as a teenager. He has yet to make a first team appearance for Burnley, having spent the 2024/2025 campaign on loan at Scottish side Dundee FC. Adewumi had a solid campaign for the side, scoring five goals and grabbing five assists in 32 games. Despite finishing the regular season second bottom, the club rallied during the relegation play-offs and ended up finishing third from bottom and avoiding the drop.
