Celtic v Aberdeen: Team news, referee details, KO time & where to watch

Celtic return to Paradise on Tuesday evening to face Aberdeen. The Dons came from 2-0 down to snatch a draw when the sides met at Celtic Park earlier this season and Brendan Rodgers’ side will look to enact some revenge as they aim to bounce back from a rare defeat away to Hibernian.

Aberdeen have failed to beat Celtic in their last 28 attempts, stretching back to the dead rubber win in May 2018. Celtic will look to extend their lead at the top of the table ahead of Rangers’ trip to Rugby Park.

Team News

Brendan has confirmed that Paulo Bernardo is a few weeks away and there are no fresh injury concerns from the weekend. The manager made three changes at the break at Easter Rd, which resulted in an improved second half performance and the Irishman will likely look to continue with that team.

Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals.

In defence, expect the manager to go with Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers as the central pairing with Alistair Johnston and Jefferey Schlupp in the full back berths.

In midfield, Callum McGregor will start alongside Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.

In attack, expect Daizen Maeda to start through the middle with Nicolas Kühn and Jota on the wings.

Celtic will need their bench as they look to reduce fatigue around the squad, especially with the trip to Paisley at the weekend. However, the manager will be under no illusions given how the last game against the Pittodrie side went.

Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Schlupp, Trusty, Carter-Vickers, Johnston; McGregor, Hatate, Engels; Jota, Maeda, Kühn.
