Celtic capped off their preseason preparations with a resounding victory against Chelsea just days after defeating Manchester City.

Scorers: Nkunku (P) 90′ ; O’Reily 19, Kyogo 33′, Palma 76′, Johnston 78′

It was clear that Celtic were far ahead of their rivals from the Premier League in terms of preparation and fitness this preseason, as they came flying out the blocks.

While the first big chance fell to Christopher Nkunku, the Hoops found the opener in the 20th minutes thanks to a slick finish from Matt O’Riley.

Brendan Rodgers’ side followed up their opener with a second less than 15 minutes later when Kyogo found the back of the net.

After the break, Chelsea pushed to pull themselves back into the friendly clash but they were undone by a horrendous attempt to play out the back, and a giveaway was punished by Luis Palma.

It took Celtic just two minutes to extend their lead to four when Michael Johnston was played in behind before coolly slotting home and capping off a dominant showing by the Scottish side.

A late Christopher Nkunku penalty cut the lead to three but it was merely consolation for the Premier League giants.
